Washing

Use tuck under laundry tabs for the Hook/Loop Shells. Wash every 2 days on warm with detergent. Hang Shells to dry. Do NOT use bleach or fabric softeners.

Tips for Hook/Loop Shells

* Regular trimming of the pilling on the front loop fabric with a sweater shaver.

* Keeping the aplix clear of all threads, lint, etc. with a pin or soft toothbrush.

* Flattening the tab closure each and every time the wet shell is removed from the washer before it is hung or laid to air dry.

Pilling is caused by friction of fabric.  Try washing the shells in a mesh laundry bag to try and reduce rubbing on high fiber cloth diapers/absorbencies.  Maybe try washing the shells with other similar fabric baby laundry.  If you have a top load washer with an agitator, washing the shells on a gentle wash cycle will extend their life.

How many diapers you have is a big component of wear on the Hook/Loop.  Using fewer than recommended will cause excessive wear and tear.  We recommend a bare minimum of 12 shells with 14-16 being the optimum for a good rotating stash.

The type of wash cycles is also important.  The Hybrid Shells are water resistant and have absolutely no absorbency so they do not need to be washed as diligently as the Soaker Pads.

If you are using a prewash with some detergent, you may remove them after the prewash and hang to dry.  They do not need to go additionally into the main wash if they are not badly soiled.

Simple & Flexibile

GroVia Hybrid Cloth Diapers are designed to make your life simple. The hybrid system is flexible to fit your morning, daycare, on-the-go and overnight needs, and it also works with reusable and disposable cloth diaper inserts. Choose from a range of soaker options that are all compatible with the same cover and easily attach to a soft, comfy waterproof outer shell.

How Does It Work?

1. Choose Absorbency

Choose from our three soaker options: Organic Cotton SoakerNo Prep Soaker or our eco-friendly disposable BioSoaker.

2. Choose Outer Shell

Choose from hook and loop or snap closures. Hybrid shells (a.k.a. diaper covers) can be worn 2-3 times before laundering again.

Easy To Use

Our hybrid system makes it easy to diaper your baby, everything from putting a cloth diaper on your baby to adding different types of absorbency and laundering your cloth diapers.

Absorbency

GroVia’s soaker options are designed with elasticized leg gussets and waterproof backing to contain messes. BioSoakers adhere to the shell with sticky tabs, while soaker pads snap in.

The Most Flexible System

The hallmark of our hybrid design is simple flexibility. You may choose to stick with one type of soaker, or you may want to experience the full range of cloth diaper insert options.

Hybrid - FAQ

In order to wash your cloth diaper properly, you first want to dispose of “the solids.” Our cloth diaper BioLiners make this incredibly simple! Check out our Cloth Diaper Laundry Basics page to learn more about how to wash and dry cloth diapers.

A full-time Hybrid cloth diapering system will cost approximately $450-600 to diaper your little one for 2-3 years. But don’t let this upfront cost scare you. You will easily spend 5 times that amount buying disposable diapers in just 2 years!

For full-time cloth diapering, we recommend a bare minimum of 12 shells and 24 soaker padsto get you started. We also recommend increasing those totals to 14-16 shells and 36-45 soaker pads within the first year. This helps spread out the wear and use of each, so your shells and soaker pads last longer.

Great diaper

I am trying cloth diapering for the first time with my second baby. These were great to start with, especially using the disposable inserts and liners as well! I had a hard time getting a snug fit until my baby was at least 12 pounds though. I love the quality of these diapers and the velcro makes it feel like using a regular diaper.

Did not like

I did not like this one compared to the organic all in one. This one is super bulky, and not first time user friendly. I am new to the cloth diaper world and I will not be using this one. To be honest I only bought it as a comparison to the organic all in one because this one was on clearance for under $15. I do not recommend this one.
